Loyola University Maryland's Center for Montessori Education

Montessori Graduate Summer Session

Students enrolled in the Montessori M.Ed. Program are required to complete the Educational Core courses (9-12 credits), which are offered each summer in a special intensive session at Loyola University's scenic Evergreen campus in Baltimore. Students who are taking the Master’s concurrently with their AMI training will complete the summer intensive as a capstone to their program once all AMI comprehensive examinations are complete. Students in the Post-Diploma M.Ed. track will begin their program with the summer session and typically take 12 credits.

(!) Important Information (!)

Students must successfully complete AMI comprehensive examinations prior to attending the Summer Session in Baltimore.

Loyola Student ID cards can be obtained from the Student Administrative Services office upon arrival on campus. However, for your own convenience, you may choose to have your card prepared for you before you arrive (saves you from having to stand in line!). If you choose this option you will need to send 1) a JPEG photo of yourself against a plain background and 2) a photocopy of your license/passport to gabrueck@loyola.edu no later than June 1st.

If you are bringing a car to campus or plan to commute over the session, please be sure to request a parking pass when completing your Reservation Form.

On-campus housing information can also be found below under “Additional Resources.” Staying on campus during the session is convenient but not mandatory. Those who choose alternate housing (e.g. AirBnB) should consult with Jack Rice (jhrice@loyola.edu) or Greta Brueck (gabrueck@loyola.edu) to confirm proximity to campus.

A Note about Graduation/Receiving your M.Ed. diploma: Graduation is not automatic; an application is required in order to receive your diploma from Loyola. Students who wish to graduate in September immediately following the Summer Session will need to Apply to Graduate by the May deadline.
