Health Outreach Baltimore 5-Year Anniversary Celebration

Health Outreach Baltimore, a partnership program between Loyola University Maryland and the Mercy Medical Center, will host a five-year anniversary celebration featuring a keynote address by Joshua Sharfstein, M.D., vice dean for public health practice and community engagement and professor of practice in health policy and management at Johns Hopkins University. His lecture, How to Get More Health out of Healthcare, will focus on how to improve healthcare and provide positive outcomes for patients and society.  All are welcome to attend.

Loyola University Maryland’s Modern Languages & Literatures Department will host Dr. Marta E Hanson, director of the History of Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University. In celebration of Chinese Week, Dr. Hanson will give a speech on “Heaven and Earth within One’s Grasp: The Body-as-Technology in Classical Chinese Medicine”.

2020 Humanities Symposium Keynote Address

This year the annual Humanities Symposium will reflect on war and homecoming. 
The keynote address will be given by veteran of the United States Marine Corps and award-winning author, Phil Klay. Klay has written Redeployment, which copies will be sold at the event.
