Apply for Benefits through the DVA
Prior to being certified at Loyola University Maryland, you must first apply for GI Bill® education benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs. There are several types of benefits, so you should first review the various offerings on the GI Bill website to determine which program you may be eligible for.
After assessing your eligibility, you can apply for benefits online at Vets.gov. For comprehensive assistance with the application process, you can call the VA at 1-888-442-4551 or email your inquiry through the Ask VA (AVA) portal. The VA will review your application and issue you a Certificate of Eligibility letter, which confirms your type of benefit, the number of months of benefits remaining, and the date benefits expire.
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the US. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website at https://www.va.gov/education/about-gi-bill-benefits/post-9-11/.
