Message from Rev. Brian F. Linnane, S.J., president
Based on the information we are receiving from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding crowds, we have no choice but to postpone Commencement. I know this is terribly disappointing news for our Class of 2020—and all those who are so proud of them. I assure you that we have some wonderful ideas about a special way to celebrate you and all your accomplishments. You will have a Commencement, even if the timing of those festivities is beyond our control at this moment. As soon as we have more details, we will share them with you, so you and your families and friends can plan to join us for a long-awaited, truly memorable ceremony.
Information regarding purchasing regalia, obtaining tickets, and other commencement-related information will be provided soon. Please stay tuned for details.
The deadline to purchase all Commencement-related items, including caps and gowns has been extended. Information about ordering caps and gowns will be provided soon.
Loyola’s in-person Commencement ceremony has been postponed, but more than 1,100 students will still officially become the Class of 2020 on Saturday, May 16. Our graduates and their friends and families are invited to join us in virtual celebration. Some virtual events include:
- May 14 - A Toast to Seniors
- May 15 - ROTC Commissioning
- May 16 - Virtual conferring of degrees, online content, and a DJ party in the evening
