Loyola University Maryland considers the following information to be directory information which can be released without the written consent of the student: name; photo; home, dorm, local, and email address; home and local phone number; class year; enrollment status; participation in officially recognized activities and sports; and weight and height of members of athletic teams. Every student has the right to file a written request with the University (Records Office) to restrict the listing of directory information in the electronic address directory. If a student does not want the University to disclose directory information from the student's education records without the student's prior written consent, the student must notify the University annually, in writing, within the first week of classes: Records Office, Loyola University Maryland, 4501 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210-2699. Students should be aware that instructing the University not to release directory information could impact disclosures to potential employers, lending agencies, health insurance carriers, etc.
Students have the option to notify the Records Office of their preference in writing (as documented above) or electronically (via inside.loyola.edu), as follows:
Undergraduate Students: Inside Loyola > Undergraduate Demographics (redirects to Loyola Self-Service, Undergraduate Demographic Entry screen) > choose New Directory Flag Choice of Yes or No
Graduate Students: Inside Loyola > Graduate Registration (redirects to Loyola Self-Service, Graduate Demographic Entry screen) > choose New Directory Flag Choice of Yes or No
Note: The University considers no response to the directory question on the Inside Loyola Portal demographics page as permission to release this information.
