Messina

Welcome Class of 2027!

Messina is designed to help all incoming first-year commuter and residential students acclimate quickly and easily to social and academic life at Loyola.

Themes and Course Pairings for the 2023-24 academic year will be available for review in April.

The Messina Preference Survey

All members of the Class of 2027 should complete the Messina Preference Survey. The link to the preference survey will be sent to your student e-mail account.  You may also access the survey through this website, once the survey is open. Once you are in the survey, you will share some information about your academic interests. You can either choose to select 5-10 Messina course pairings that interest you or you can indicate that you would like the Messina office to select an appropriate course pairing based on your academic interests.

Please review this video to learn about the how to complete the preference survey.

The Messina Preference Survey will open on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

All students who complete the survey by Wednesday, May 31, 2023 will have an equal chance of receiving a preferred Messina course pairing. Students submitting preferences after May 31 will be placed in a preference (if possible) based on date and time of submission. Students will be notified of their Messina course pairing during summer orientation. You will also have a chance to review and make changes (if necessary) to your fall course schedule with an academic advisor.
