Office of International Student Services Overview

The Office of International Student Services (OISS) at Loyola welcomes you to our community represented by students from 32 countries. Loyola is committed to promoting international education both on campus and abroad. Every year, we send approximately 64% of our junior class to study overseas. We take a strong approach to promoting internationalization on our campus by designing our academic programs to give our students a strong sense of the global context in their studies. The Jesuit mission is fundamentally associated with a global and open-minded vision that highly values the rich cultural and spiritual diversity that characterizes human experience as a whole. We are striving to build a campus community that reflects perspectives of people from all over the world and promote the need for diversity and internationalization in modern education.

COVID-19/Coronavirus Update

Loyola University Maryland will extend online-only instruction for undergraduate students and many graduate programs for the fall 2020 semester. The Office of International Student Services (OISS) has transitioned to a remote work setting in light of the university's announcement to close its campuses to all but authorized personnel until further notice. OISS staff members, therefore, are now working remotely, but remain available by phone and email. Our office staff assures you that we will continue to support our international community during this challenging time. Please reach out to us via email at oiss@loyola.edu, or call our office at 410-617-5245. If we are unable to answer your call, please leave a voicemail with your name, email address and phone number and we will return your message at our earliest convenience. We anticipate being able to accommodate most requests virtually during this time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to overcome challenges during this unprecedented situation together. We encourage you to keep in touch with our office.
