Director: Coordinates, supports, and supervises the Campus Ministry Team.  Duties include staff meetings, supervision of professional staff members, meetings with Mission Committee, oversight of budget and annual staff evaluations.

Seán Bray serves as the Director of Campus Ministry. He was born and raised in the Seattle area. He is a product of Catholic education and a certified Lay Ecclesial Minister. He holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Carroll College in Helena, Montana and a Masters in Pastoral Studies from Seattle University. Seán has served as an elementary & middle school teacher in the Archdiocese of Seattle, youth minister, a Co-Director of Outdoor Ministries, a Campus Minister for Retreats, and Social Justice Minister at Seattle University. He believes deeply in the transformative nature of Jesuit Education and Ignatian Spirituality. Seán is passionate about creating inclusive space for dialogue, accompanying people in discernment, nurturing relationship between communities, building teams, and helping people to explore their relationships with God, others, and themselves.  He enjoys spending time in the outdoors, biking, skiing, hiking, and camping. He is married to Shannon and they have three children, Larkin, Liam and Fíona.

Assistant Director: Oversees Campus Ministry Intern Program, including selection and training, Office Marketing and Communications functions and the Ignite retreat. 

Megan is thrilled to be in Campus Ministry at her alma mater walking alongside students in their journey to find meaning and purpose. Most recently, Megan worked as the Associate Director for Student Staff Development and Community Service Programs in Loyola's Center for Community, Service, and Justice.She is passionate about creating connections between people and communities and has also served as an Assistant Director of Service-Learning, a Jesuit Volunteer in Portland, OR and a Health Policy Analyst in D.C./Baltimore. She holds a B.A. in Writing/Studio Art from Loyola University Maryland and an M.S. in Applied Sociology from Clemson University. Megan was born and raised in Baltimore and Loyola has been an important part of her family history--her grandfather, father, mother, aunts, uncles, sister and husband are all alumni. She is excited to have the opportunity to help shape & enrich future students' experiences at Loyola.

Valentin Mudiay serves as the Program Assistant in Campus Ministry. He was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Baltimore within the Catholic Church. His connection to the Jesuits deepened during his time at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. This Jesuit education continued through the first half of his undergraduate experience at Loyola University of Maryland. Through various leadership roles across Loyola’s campus, he grew a deep appreciation for the impact that Campus Ministry has both within and beyond Loyola. Valentin went on to complete his B.S in Information Systems at Towson University. Throughout undergrad, he enjoyed experiences centered on social justice and community engagement through Towson University’s Freedom School, Loyola’s Campus Ministry, and programs for mentoring and tutoring high school and college students. Valentin’s background is in Information Systems and Technology, with experiences as project manager on projects for nonprofit client organizations like Pathfinders for Autism, two years as an IT technician with Client Support, and four years as an intern at Legg Mason, an investment management firm that is now Franklin Templeton. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering. He spends his time diving into programming to develop software solutions, with his current passion being in creating web-based applications. He enjoys connecting with people and having a positive impact on his community, so he is excited to provide support for our Campus Ministry team.


George Miller

Associate Director: Oversees daily and weekly liturgies, major University liturgies and Evensong. Directs the Chapel Choir, leads Chapel Choir retreat, supervises Wedding Coordinator, and directs Lessons & Carols.

George Miller directs the worship life of the Loyola community. As founder of the Loyola Chapel Choir, he brings over 30 years experience as a musician and campus minister. He holds degrees in theology (Loyola, '76), voice and music education, and a M.A. in vocal pedagogy and conducting, as well as continuing education in liturgical studies. George has held national leadership positions with AJCU and NPM, and is currently a faculty member of Music Ministry Alive – a summer institute for young musicians in St. Paul, MN. A professional singer, he has performed with The Baltimore Choral Arts Society, and the Baltimore, Washington, and Annapolis Opera companies. His passions also include home renovation. George is currently completing a 3-year project on a 1926 colonial-revival home in Kingsville, MD.

Interfaith and Ecumenical Ministries: including SpiritualiTEA, Belief Heroes, IFYC Leadership Conference, Interfaith prayer service, 9/11 Prayer Service, Interfaith Advisory Board, retreats and Speedfaithing.

Rev. Scott Hamilton Adams serves as the Assistant Director of Interfaith and Ecumenical Ministries at Loyola University, Maryland. He leads the university’s interfaith initiatives towards cultivating safe and empowering spaces of faith, educating the community around religious diversity, and providing co-curricular experiences that complement and contextualize Loyola’s Jesuit education. Additionally, he serves as a liaison between the university and faith communities/organizations in greater Baltimore. Finally, Rev. Scott serves as Loyola’s Ecumenical Minister and is responsible for developing, supporting and affirming Loyola’s Protestant Christian community through worship services (Roots of Refuge), programming, spiritual development and education.

Rev. Scott currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Heritage United Church of Christ, where he is committed to the mission of love, justice, liberation, and peace. He received his master’s degree (ThM) from Duke University's School of Divinity, holds a master’s degree in Theology from St. Mary’s Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from James Madison University.

Rev. Scott believes that his greatest achievement is being a husband and a father. He and wife Tanya are the proud parents of two sons, Ray and Scotty.

Social Justice Ministries:

Emily is thrilled to be returning to the Loyola Maryland community as Assistant Director for Social Justice Ministry. Emily graduated from Loyola in 2014 with a B.A. in Psychology and Gender Studies. As a student, Emily discovered the Jesuits for the first time, which ignited her passion for Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit education. After graduation, she served as a year-long volunteer with Rostro de Cristo in Durán, Ecuador, where she worked at a care facility for people with Hansen’s disease (formerly known as leprosy), and at an after-school program for neighborhood youth. Emily also spent a year at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia as a Campus Ministry Associate, working with social justice initiatives (and dealing with “Pope-mania”). Most recently, she completed her Master’s in Social Justice through the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University Chicago, where she also served as a graduate assistant in Campus Ministry. Emily enjoys traveling to new places, practicing her Spanish, doing yoga, and quoting The Office and Parks and Rec whenever possible.

University Chaplain: Provides pastoral care and spiritual direction. Supports the liturgical life of the University. Directs retreats and the R.C.I.A. process.

Father Dennis served as assistant director of Campus Ministry at Loyola from 2007-2009 and as director of Campus Ministry from 2009-2012. He has also served as a member of Loyola's Board of Trustees. Fr. Dennis served as the president of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, from 2012-2018. He has worked previously at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, and at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, where he was president from 1998-2005.

 

Rev. Thomas Roach, S.J.

Associate Chaplain: Provides pastoral care and spiritual direction. Supports the liturgical life of the University. Oversees the Koinonia faith-sharing communities and supports Pre-Cana and First Friday Masses.

Father Roach is a native of Baltimore, where he attended St. Bernardine’s School and Loyola Blakefield. After entering the Jesuits, Father studied German, philosophy, and theology at St. Louis University and Woodstock College. He has spent most of his life in high school teaching and administration, first at St. Joseph’s Prep and then at Georgetown Prep. For six years he served as the Maryland Province Assistant for Secondary Education. In 2000 he went to Gdynia, Poland, where he taught English and worked in teacher formation at the Jesuit high school. In 2001 the Superior General of the Jesuits appointed Father Roach Secretary of Education. Father Roach served in that position and lived in Rome until 2009, when he became the Rector of the Scranton Jesuit Community. He came to Loyola in the fall of 2015. Father Roach is at home with languages, other cultures, and working with young people.

Chanali is ecstatic to serve as the Graduate Assistant for Cura Faith-Sharing Small Groups. She is a first year student in the Curriculum & Instruction for Social Justice masters program. After graduating, she plans to continue serving students in low-income communities. A native of Baltimore City, Chanali has taught in both her beloved home town  and Howard County for over 10 years. She enjoys leading worship, reading and a good nap!

Rev. Ebo Quainoo

Ebo Kobena Edumadze Quainoo was born on April 17th. First degree in Civil and Environmental degree from Georgia Institute of Technology with honors in 2008. He worked as a  project Engineer with Tople Construction Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia for several years until called into ordained ministry in 2014. Furthered education at Candler School of Theology, Emory University. He completed Masters in Divinity and Theology both with concentration in Hebrew and the Old Testament and graduated with honors. Ebo is currently enrolled in Loyola’s MTS program and serving as head pastor for St Paul Methodist church in Baltimore and Wesley Methodist church Delaware.
