Art History Learning Aims

Students majoring in Visual Arts will demonstrate mastery of:

  • The ability to express and explore ideas through reasoned argument and innovation
  • The histories, critical vocabulary and methods of analysis, and the material production of visual art
  • The ability to incorporate intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches to visual arts practices and scholarship, integrating philosophical, historical, ethical, theoretical, and other contexts

The Art History program also has specific learning aims for 100- and 300- level courses. These are available on request.
