Financial Times Book Review
"This study of the relationship between democracy and globalisation argues that, as globalisation disrupts democracy we need to “globalise democracy.” Thus, the authors argue for more representative, effective and accountable government at local, national, continental and global levels, via novel combinations of direct democracy, representative government and rule by experts. This is an idealistic, but also logical, direction for humanity to go. But will it?"

2019 Commemoration of the Fall of the Berlin Wall
In order to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Professor Kevin Hula organized a brief panel discussion and movie event on November 9, 2019 exactly 30 years earlier. Drs. Janine Holc, Moira Lynch, and Carsten Vala joined Dr. Hula to discuss the origins of the Cold War, divided Germany, the construction of the Wall in Berlin, the ambiguity of post-Wall justice processes, and the contemporary relevance for China's surveillance state, before showing the German film, The Lives of Others.
