The moment Noor arrived on campus for her interview for the Psy.D. program, she knew Loyola was where she wanted to spend her next four years. Originally from California, Noor’s undergraduate years were spent at University of California, Riverside, where she worked as a research assistant in a personality and identity lab. After graduating, she worked at a mental health residential treatment facility for adolescent girls with anxiety and mood disorders. She decided to pursue her doctoral degree in clinical psychology; she chose Loyola’s program for the individual attention that would come with the extensive clinical experiences—in therapy, assessment, and supervision. “My faculty mentors have been inspiring to learn and grow from,” she adds, naming Joseph Bechhofer, Psy.D, clinical assistant professor of psychology, and Cara Jacobson, Psy.D., director of doctoral field education and professor of psychology. “I'm also grateful to Dr. LaFaye Marshall, a clinical supervisor who has also been integral to my training.”
