- Class of 2019
- Major, Minor Political Science, Communication
From leading tours for the office of undergraduate admission to cheering on the Greyhounds as a cheerleader to serving as a mentor to first-year students as a Messina Evergreen and as a member of the Student Government Association, Mariefred wears many hats on campus. Service has always been a large part of her life, and this led her to getting involved in Spring Break Outreach; for the past two years, she also attended then led a student immersion trip in Washington, D.C., that focuses on urban poverty and homelessness. The political science major with a communication minor says the relationships she has with faculty and her internship coordinator have helped prepare and inform her of opportunities on campus and off that will help her land a spot on Capitol Hill as a legislative staffer after she graduates.
