Paul Tallon, Ph.D, professor of information systems, holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Science in Management from University College Dublin. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California - Irvine. Before he began teaching on the subject, Dr. Tallon served as a consultant to diverse organizations around the globe, including to the United Nations International Trade Center in Geneva, Switzerland, on executive education programs using multimedia technology. His research interests include the economics of data management and information governance, specifically approaches for the management of Big Data, among others. At Loyola, Dr. Tallon leads Loyola’s annual Tech Trek, a week-long study abroad trip to Ireland during which business students gain exceptional access and insight into Ireland’s multilingual, multicultural economy as they visit as many as a dozen leading technology companies around the country. The trip to Ireland is a cornerstone of Dr. Tallon’s three-credit Management of Global IT course, during which students research, present on, and discuss the tech companies they then visit.
